Cost is the short answer.
Every time we sell a golf cart on trade me it costs us a little over $100 in fees which mean we can sell at a much lower price than via retail stores.
If we sell carts in a retail store quite a bit of the sale price goes to the retailer as their profit. ( about 30%)That is reasonable enough because they have premises and staff cost and they hold items in stock. On top of those costs we have to provide a sales rep and probably have a demonstrator cart programme. All of this “infrastructure” on the sale is eventually paid for by You, the customer and it would make your eventual buy price close to $3000 if we distributed this way.
Competitors like Motorcaddy run this sort of traditional, high cost, distribution model and you can see that we are 1/2 the price of a comparable model.
Its not that our product is half as good, in fact we would say our product is just as good. It's just that there are a lot less people making a profit our the sale before the cart gets to you so our price can be lower.
We offer a 2 year warranty on the cart and battery.

These carts are made by Hi-Tech in China. They are sold as Carttek in the USA and Tectonic is the exclusive distributor in New Zealand. We don't sell them under any “brand” as such and only sell the top-of-the-range model. You might be interested to know we have been importing into New Zealand since 1994.
Yes, we carry a full range of spares here in New Zealand plus we could always order items from the factory if we needed them as the factory provide us with a 12 month warranty.
Yes & No….mainly no.
Trademe are pretty strong open not having e-retailers contactable by phone as people might circumvent Trademe’s fees so we can’t have contact details on our website but we do provide phone and email contact details with all carts sold so people can contact us if they have any problems. Please don't contact us looking to cut Trademe out of the deal for a lower price. We are happy with the service they offer for the fees they charge.
